Everyday we bump into other souls on our personal journey ~ what if these souls are put into our path to guide us on our way?
In 2008, I fortuitously landed at the base of a documented 3000 year old Native American Vision Quest site. During the 3 years of living there, I was given the gift of exploring my heritage which led me on a journey with my ancestors. The creative result of this exploration pushed my artistic boundaries allowing me to explore new media, creative outlets and story telling. I once again began to showcase my artwork in numerous galleries, juried art shows and online. With a degree in art, I had started my journey a lifetime ago but life events had stolen the passion & focus I once had. After a series of life altering events, I was forced to sell my entire studio of supplies, my cameras and even my beloved art table my Dad built for me. I dabbled with creating through the years and sold a few pieces here and there but I had lost not only my creative life but the soul of my journey. Living ay this unique location, to experience a vision quest, to walk with my ancestors who gifted me with a powerful spiritual journey awakening my creativity again is a once in a lifetime inspiration I hope to share with you.
I never go looking for that perfect photo opportunity, I share the moments in life that present themselves to me. Capturing emotions, lives and spiritual visions that cross my path. Each moment tells a story that often develops into a book or piece of artwork for me to share. Stories to be shared creatively in every medium to explore the depth of these visions. I began my graphic design, art and photography journey as a student in college, often pushing the boundaries of the time, normal was never my style. As I have moved into the digital world, I continue to explore the boundaries to share the spiritual emotion of the souls I bump into. I began creating mandala work from photographs to explore the unique spiritual and emotional power of a connection with a soul many never see through traditional photography. These are offered as individual pieces of artwork and soon as published books.
Black & white is a bold discovery of details to explore the beauty of artistry void of color. This method takes alot of time to remove, enhance and draw to develop a piece of artwork inspired from a color photograph. You will find a variety of unique offerings as I share my emotional journey with my Spirit animals. Black & white allow you to splash your personal colorful emotions and thoughts into the art.
I began to work in fiber art in 2001, creating unique scarves from discontinued & one of a kind yarns. These unused snippets of fibers I had found plus unique jewelry treasures piled up in boxes as I collected these treasures from non profit thrift shops that support intellectually & developmentally challenged individuals in Colorado. A few years ago, I designed a scarflet to showcase the unusual textures, colors and fibers of these yarns with jewelry pieces to become wearable art pieces! These sold faster than I could create them, each a unique treasure.
In 2020, I found a metal vintage loom, I held it in my hand and knew exactly what I wanted to create from these found treasures I had been collecting for years. I pulled out my stash of fiber & jewelry, sat on the floor of my log cabin in the Rocky Mountains one winter beside a fire to warm my fingers, and designed mini art tapestries. Unique fiber, unusual textures, specialty yarns with show stopping jewelry accents create limited custom artwork for your enjoyment. As I push this new artistry I know there will be some truly one of a kind pieces. The best part, you help me support a wonderful non profit organization.
Still to come are the many books of artwork and their stories. These are in varied stages of completion and I can't wait to get them in your hands. As I grow and build a studio, you will have access to much more than what is shown today. For those who wish to support my creative process you will find membership options (it is like a magazine subscription to my artistic life). These are set up as a prepaid yearly subscription that offers you a way to support my artistic journey without purchasing finished artwork. You get a behind the scenes personal view of the process of creation, access to limited © prints, teasers of upcoming books & the stories behind the artwork created. It allows me to open up my virtual studio to you as we walk this journey together.
Artwork is American made by the daughter of an American Revolutionary Patriot, with Cherokee ancestry and first generation immigrants.
I am a survivor of trauma & abuse who found peace, healing and happiness at the base of an ancient mountain that natives traveled to for centuries to seek guidance, healing and hope through the visions and animals that presented themselves there.
Grab a drink & sit with me while I tell you a story of the beautiful souls that bump into my life.
Enjoy exploring my gallery of art!
