With this painting I wanted to create something that represents a softer perspective but still with a lot of excitement and movement. Flying in over the Great Salt Lake at sunset was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The juxtaposition of the city in the middle of this beautiful canyon was so interesting to me. The colors of the lake were something I have never seen before and with the light from the sun it was really magical.

I titled the piece after the song “Lilly” by Toro y Moi because the dreamy and groovy pace of the song creates a calmness and excitement at the same time.
