Inspired by the song Andromeda by Weyes Blood, this abstract piece captures the feeling of drifting weightlessly through space. Layers of neon color were poured and pulled across thick raw canvas to create a luminous, floating effect that evokes the vastness of a galaxy just out of reach.
The heavy-duty raw canvas is typically used for rolling out clay, so the surface carries a natural grit, grounding the ethereal movement of the paint with tactile texture. The canvas is unprimed and unstretched, giving it a raw unfiltered quality that mirrors the vulnerability of the music that sparked its creation.
This piece is part of a collection of paintings inspired the visceral expressions that are created by music. Through this body of work I aim to give form to these experiences through color and movement.
