I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Zaire, next to Lake Kivu. It's a country often exploited for its resources. I recently read that they are extracting the methane gas from the lake. Not much lives in the lake, just some tiny fish. This mosaic represents the gaseous lake and the extraction of another resource from a struggling country (now the Democratic Republic of Congo, which, by the way, is NOT the same country as Congo...please learn the geography). Done on reclaimed industrial glass with scrap metal, art glass, and found items.
