In the small town of South Mountain, Ontario, Canada, the Nation River runs under a bridge, and it's one of our favourite spots to stop on a walk. When the kids were little, they'd lean over the edges and look for fish. In the spring, the river fills the banks and rushes loudly; in the summer, it looks like a small, weedy creek; and in the winter, it curves away in this sparkling avenue of brilliant sun and blue shadows.
