Artist's Statement: The theme of this artwork is the interconnectedness of people. I used found photos of women from different eras and backgrounds and "connected" them with thread. I like my work to be open-ended, which allows the viewer to creatively interpret what I have done. Sometimes people come up with interesting associations and meanings that I have not seen or understood before, and I like that. This piece is made from an old math primer, found portraits of women that I sewed and stuffed with cotton batting, and cotton twine.
