Remember This When I’m Gone is based on a painting made in early 2020 that is a part of Fallah’s veiled portrait series. With three color-variant editions and a set of unique hand-embellished pieces, Remember This When I’m Gone serves as not only a reaction to the current global socio-political climate, but also a vehicle to provide hope to future generations.
“Abandoning the superficial, these prints conceal the physical appearance of my subjects and describe them through the objects and mementos that are charged with personal history, experiences, and memories. The subject of this work is a Polish-American photographer based in Los Angeles. Her body is concealed with a yellow floral fabric from Poland that she also uses in her staged photographs. In her hands she is delicately holding a favorite camera, one that she has worked with on and off for years.” — Amir H. Fallah
