Plate, 9.5 inches diameter. Green transfer. Unknown maker. Printed retailer's mark for Boxer Bros. of Montreal, Canada. This pattern features a central image of a snarling tiger crouched over a gazelle in a grassy landscape. The border consists of flowering and leafing branches with picture medallions at the top and bottom with a profile view of a tiger.
Boxer Bros. & Co. was located in Staffordshire Hall on St. Catherine Street in Montreal, Canada. They were ceramic importers and were known to import wares from J. Dimmock & Co. and William Brownfield & Sons.
