Bowl, 5 inches diameter. Brown transfer. Printed maker's mark for Moore & Co. This pattern features a bird in flight. Above is a thorny berry branch with fruit and blossoms and a ribbon. Two butterflies hover on either side. Below is two sprigs of flowers.
Moore & Co. was an earthenware and majolica manufacturer at the Old Foley Pottery in Longton, Staffordshire, England. The partners were Thomas Cartlich Moore, Thomas Bickley, Robert Leason, and Rosellia Taylor. Bickey retired in November 1889 and the company became Moore, Leason & Co.
