45th Annual ACC Student Art Exhibition 2021
This exhibition is a showcase of artworks produced during the 2020/2021 academic year that display a diverse range of media and techniques. While the ongoing restrictions of COVID-19 were ever present this year, these works created by our students reflect a high level of discipline, confidence in one’s own talent, and a pursuit of artistic vision. Courses were taught through a combination of remote and hybrid-onsite learning to the great credit of our professors who, through enormous effort, were able to establish and maintain productive environments for artistic development. Each artwork was selected for the exhibition by a faculty member in the area of study that they teach.
We were very pleased to have Austin-based printmaker and ACC Studio Art alumnus Annalise Gratovich accept our invitation to select this year’s Art Department awards as exhibition judge. An unprecedented amount of support for awards and scholarships was also provided by the ACC Chancellor’s Office, the Austin Art League Group 1, and Cindy and Robert Smith. In addition, a number of these works will enter our permanent collection and will be featured in future in-gallery exhibitions. Being able to recognize artistic achievement is fundamental for the personal growth of an artist, but it is also a way that a community expresses their commitment and understanding of the important place art has in our society.
