About TBQA Collectivo

The Bureau of Queer Art operates as a collaborative ecosystem sustained by artists, curators, writers, and cultural participants who contribute to the ongoing life of the project. TBQA Collectivo formalizes this community as a membership structure that supports exhibitions, publications, residencies, and collaborative programming throughout the year.

Artists who join the Collectivo receive reduced exhibition participation fees, no application fees for open calls, and access to opportunities across TBQA’s programs, including publications, podcast features, and collaborative projects.

Participation in TBQA exhibitions and programs does not require Collectivo membership; however, many artists choose to join as a way of remaining connected to the broader community and supporting the continued development of the platform.

IMMORTAL is an art fair.
But that is only part of the truth.

Held during Día de Muertos, IMMORTAL gathers Queer artists across borders to stand with memory — not as decoration, but as inheritance. We build space for what survives us.

In its first edition, artists described IMMORTAL as an accelerated residency. Three days that felt like weeks. Conversations that bypassed small talk. Collaborations that crossed countries. Work that changed in the presence of other work.

IMMORTAL functions commercially.
It behaves communally.
It leaves residue.

We are opening early applications through May 1, 2026.

Early applicants receive priority placement, early tier pricing, and consideration for TBQA programming leading up to the fair.


An application fee is required. The early round fee has been lowered to widen access while sustaining this artist-led platform.

IMMORTAL is not only about visibility.
It is about proximity.

About compressing time so that connection happens faster than the world expects.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

– Statement (300 words max)
– 5–10 work samples
– Artwork details and pricing
– Short bio
– Desired spatial width
– Confirm availability Oct 20–26

SPATIAL STRUCTURE

All booth walls are approximately 3 meters high.
Width defines scale.

Tier IV — Expanded Presentation (7–10 meters width)
$700–$800 USD
For collectives, organizations, immersive works, and performance activations.
Space to breathe. Space to build.

Tier III — Standard Booth (4–6 meters width)
$400–$650 USD
For artists presenting a cohesive body of work within a defined structure.

Tier II — Focused Presentation (1–3 meters width)
$300–$450 USD
For concentrated statements, emerging voices, or tightly framed installations.

Tier I — Queer Vault
$100 USD

The Queer Vault is a curated field of editioned works. Not a bargain bin. Not an afterthought. A deliberate space for accessibility.

Works must be professionally presented: protective sleeve, archival backing, clear labeling.

Artists may participate exclusively in the Queer Vault or include editioned works as part of Tier II–IV booth participation.

Accessibility is part of the structure. Not a compromise.
