This painting was painted from a gouache sketch I did while travelling along the Coral Coast of Western Australia in July 2024. I painted this with oils and a palette knife, and wanted to capture the mustard colours of this ancient river, lit by the late afternoon sun and the colours reflected from the ochre rocks.
