A collection of collage paintings on wood panels created for Biggar Little Festival 2024.
The profiles of dormer windows, spires, chimneys, towers, crow-step gables, clock faces - all the motifs that make up the roofscapes of Biggar caught my attention for this body of work.
The association of chimneys with warmth, hearth and home, clocks and the passage of time, spires and towers reaching up and beyond all lead me to a sense of untold stories embedded within the townscape of this ancient market town.
This work has been created from many sketches and layers of collage and paint all finished with two coats of UV protective matt varnish.
