John James Anderson is a Michigan-based interdisciplinary artist, critic, and curator. His work has been exhibited throughout the United States, and has been covered in The Washington Post, Washington City Paper, The Miami Herald, Miami New Times, and Hyperallergic. He has received several grants from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
In 2010 he began writing for Washington City Paper. His criticism has also appeared in The Washington Times, Art in America, and Sculpture. He curated Making a Scene: The Jefferson Place, and Yuri Schwebler: The Spiritual Plane.
Anderson has an MFA in Painting from American University, and BFAs in Graphic Design, and Painting from Iowa State University. His work is represented by Adah Rose Gallery, Kensington, MD.
