The Awakening of Self
In spring 2017, I returned to Bali for a four-week art retreat at Svarga Loka Resort in Ubud. In silence and solitude, a deeply transformative process unfolded. While I created 19 artworks, the true journey was inward—a reconnection with my Self on a soul level. Surrounded by lush nature, I was invited to pause, let go, and turn within. This became a process of release and liberation—an awakening of Self.
From this experience emerged two key works on canvas: I AM and LOVE IS. “I AM” reflects pure awareness and the connection to the Divine within. The creative process became an act of devotion, aligning me with my higher Self. The resulting art embodies this inner expansion—being one with the universe while fully present within myself.
