I would stare at this stone wall nearly every day. It had a large crack going right down the center, from the top of the wall to the sidewalk. I was fascinated with this crack. I would think about how something so strong could be so broken - as well as the reverse - how could something so broken still be standing so strong? I was going through a difficult time and I felt that I could somehow relate to this wall. It became a reminder for me that even though I felt broken, I could still stand strong. Although to anyone else it may look like just a nice painting of a stone wall, by painting this wall I was, in a way, painting myself.
