The image reminds Hal Stinger, a Florida native, of many of the old vine-covered buildings one can still see in older remote parts of Florida. Just drive down rural Highway 441, 301 or through parts of the panhandle, and you'll see these abandoned structures along the road way. Per the artist Charles Dickinson, "It was fun to paint! I had seen this scene for many years in Eastpoint, Florida and last year [2016] I could not resist it any longer. In the constantly changing landscape you never know how long some of these beautiful old buildings will be there, and I like this type of subject." The painting was awarded First Place in the Honors Show at the St. Augustine Art Association in 2016 prior to being purchased for the collection.
