Tilly
Artificial intelligence, mixed media
"Tilly is a performative machine that uses AI to generate haiku; Tilly observes its surroundings, contextualizes what they see, composes a haiku, then Tilly "speaks" this haiku back into the space.
I utilize tools, skills, and concepts from emerging technology, commercial video game production, experimental game design, entrepreneurship, and installation/product demonstration. My intention is to construct dynamic systems where interaction and play encourage dialog between system and user to foster mindfulness and critical engagement regarding the cultural and personal implications of emerging technology.
As an artist, I am concerned with the layers of technological mediation that filter our social interactions, the growing influence of algorithms on our relationships and experiences, and the economic and institutional forces that propel these technological developments."
