Signs Of A Leaky Gut
Anodized aluminum, prosthetic gelatin, mulberry powder
Wall works are designed to mimic the function of industrial cold plates, a device created to ensure the safe running of machines through the thermal management of power electronics. Presented as futuristic totems, the work observes parallels between the relentless mining of natural resources and our bodies for information and data. Carved into aluminum are compositions based on apparatuses used to collect mineral deposits, and patterns found in microfluidics to emulate cellular functions of the human body. Voids are cast with materials to imitate flesh, containing elements found in our bodies and supplements intended to bolster immunity and preserve longevity. Silicone poured into empty channels conveys our shapeshifting nature, being narrowly filled into spaces, adapting by any means for the sake of survival.
