Point Nemo
Oil on canvas
“Point Nemo is the name of the most remote and uninhabited island on earth, also known as the South Pacific Ocean Uninhabited Area. At more than 1,000 miles from civilization in all directions, Point Nemo is unlike any other place in the world. People often refer to this place as the 'middle of nowhere.' The concept of the exhibition includes three series: ’Land of Invisible Bugs,’ ‘The Bird’s Death,’ and ‘Point Nemo.’
Most of the works contain self-portraits. [They] are filled with an atmosphere surrounded by loneliness. The environment is mysterious and slightly gloomy, soaked with symbolism, and creates a feeling of being away from everything. It was a kind of meditative process to work on this series, an attempt to dialogue with myself. Sorting through traumas, past experiences, and just going down into the subconscious.”
