"My personal experience with mental and neurological disorders profoundly drives my art. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016 and have had Tourette syndrome my entire life. I create art about my experience with these through a variety of interdisciplinary techniques. The emotional, physical, and social issues associated with bipolar disorder and Tourette syndrome are often difficult to explain in plain language, which can be alienating to those who suffer and to the people around them. I believe that art is one of the most effective methods of explaining this aspect of conditions such as these, making it a perfect tool for both education and activism.
My long-term goals are highly centered around neuroaesthetics, that is, the study of the neurological connection between the emotional and the artistic. More specifically, Neuroaesthetics is concerned with why we like the things we like as well as how art functions within our society. With my perspective and my artistic voice, I hope I can help destigmatize these conditions."
