Alberni defines herself as a semi-abstract artist. Her aesthetic blends expressive and graphic elements across all bodies of work. Much like her years in printmaking, her process is intentional and rational, but her creative journey flows through intuition.
Alberni grew up between Puerto Rico, Colombia and Miami. Her bi-cultural, vibrant heritage and upbringing weave throughout the fabric of her art, bringing layers together in a variety of techniques and materials which build her framework, and geometry, bold colors, and symbolism fuse to complete a narrative.
Her work investigates and comments on the relationship between humans, nature, technology and the rest of our planet which seem to exist in perpetual chaos within the environmental, political, economic, and sociocultural framework. Her work is driven by current events, human consumption, animal habitats, technological advances and troubling dichotomies.
