Herman Aguirre is a Mexican American artist born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, where he continues to live and work. He received his BFA and MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and currently teaches in their Department of Painting and Drawing. In 2017, Aguirre was one of eight individuals to be awarded the Leonore Annenberg Fellowship for Performing and Visual Arts. He is represented by Zolla/Lieberman Gallery in Chicago, and Portrait Society Gallery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and exhibits in various galleries, museums, and art fairs throughout the United States.
