The Dream Series consists of smaller paintings that are put together using “opposites:” a quiet pattern is overlaid with scumbled, pumace-laden paint; or a soaked surface is battered with sandpaper before being drawn upon in layers.
“Opposites” are analogous to sleeping and waking: when sleeping, we hope our dreams are peaceful and reassuring, but when we wake the opposites creep in.
