Inspired by Baroque music, large, repeating arches create a sense of depth, reminiscent of Italian Renaissance plazas or Roman aqueducts, but fractured through a cubist lens. “Recess” pauses time, evoking memories through a constant tension between 2D flatness and 3D depth. At the heart of the piece is a translucent, ethereal figure in a seated or crouching pose. with glowing, iridescent highlights—pinks, teals, and soft whites—giving it a holographic or ghost-like quality. The narrative is left to the viewer’s interpretation and imagination.
