The Labyrith
The Labyrinth is a place we have all been to at least one time or another. The maze of your mind is laid out before you, challenging you to the trial. Just like the heroines in Oz and Wonderland, the gauntlet set before me reminisced of childhood innocence. My labyrinth is growing up. Now, I can't tell you when I entered the Labyrinth or if I am even still in it, but I can tell you what I know now.
Through the process of me creating this series, I realized that a transformation was occurring, a part of me was dying, but a new version of myself began to grow. Throughout this journey, I met characters who helped me find this new version of myself. Most of them turned out to be allies. However, some of them pushed me to face the conflicts I found within myself. Whether it was realizing I was in touch with maternal instincts or understanding that my accomplishments are actually successes and not forms of manipulation. Ultimately, I learned that there is no “right or wrong” decision, and - it is merely subjective. What continues to work for me is staying true to my morals. In the labyrinth, you realize that it becomes necessary for you to show up for yourself. And in the end, you will begin to see why everything worked out the way that it did.
