This painting is based on a photo I came across in the Independent online taken by the very talented @owen.humphreys 8 years ago covering a mass naked swim in Northumberland called the Northeast skinny dip.
I love the childlike giddiness of the scene - naked adults of all ages running with enthusiastic abandon towards the sea. I added colourful woolly hats to all of them to make the scene even more wintry and festive.
