Unapologetic Vol 2

Unapologetic Vol 2: The Censorship of Blackness examines the  role of censorship, systemic oppression, erasure and resilience in Black bodies. The color ways are a nod to the emergency broadcast bars displayed during censorship on live broadcast television during the 1970s and forward. The people selected for this series are ones whose lives were marred by censorship due to their art, writings, beliefs, activism, or simply, their mere existence. The collection implores the viewer to consider the fortitude and resilience required to push from margin to center despite the force of systemic oppression.

Reflections in Sage

Reflections in Sage, is a collection created from the manifestations of grief hinged on a resolution of intrinsic commitment to craft. After the loss of my sister, I folded into myself and my art was my saving grace. I have always found comfort in the color sage and have often used the herb to cleanse stale energy and begin anew. Sage pairs with the wisdom, guidance, music, writings and knowledge of this group of cultural icons that move and inspire. This collection is not only the fruit of a challenging time but a clean slate and recommitment to my craft and a dear promise to my Sister to never give up on my dream. It’s is my hope that this collection is soothing and inspiring.
