Statement

Based in Los Angeles, Anna creates ceramic art, ceramic-based mixed-media, and geometric painting alongside her legal career. Working in a field typified by competitive, categorical thinking, she finds inspiration in the power of tactile experiences and geometric representations to bring people out of their heads and connect with their present moment. She employs the practices of throwing and compass-based construction to center herself, and incorporates materials of varying coarseness, hardness, and reflectivity into her work to create tactile and visual harmonic contrast. Her work explores the concept of holding space as ritualistic utility.
