25 Personally Selected artworks
Recently, Portland artist W.S. Cranmore chose 25 paintings from his collection that best reflect his artistic vision. The selections, ranging from 2017 to 2024, were made based on composition, execution, and emotional resonance. We are excited to share this extraordinary collection with you and hope that its diversity and unique compositions resonate with you as well.
“I feel every opportunity must be taken to draw the eye to the art of W.S. Cranmore.” - Elvis Costello, singer/songwriter.
W.S. Cranmore's artworks are recognized for their unique blend of geometric patterns, bold lines, and unconventional compositions. Positioned at the crossroads of Expressionism, Geometric Abstraction, and Pop Art, Cranmore’s work fuses early modernist with post-modernist influences. His art encourages subjective interpretation, emotional introspection, and personal connection, offering a distinctive approach to storytelling and memory re-imagination.
Black Paper Series of 2024
This series was created in the first half of 2024. Each painting is 14x11”, acrylic and sometimes charcoal on black paper.
The idea was to experiment with different tools and techniques that would create new visuals not usually seen in my previous works.
Online Post Exhibition Event
The remaining paintings from the recent gallery exhibition are back home. Before storing them away, I wanted to give those who missed the exhibition a chance to explore the pieces. Feel free to browse, and if interested in a piece, click the inquire button. Your likes and shares are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
