The Philadelphia Convention Hall and Civic Center was a series of buildings originally constructed for the 1899 National Export Exhibition. The Civic Center included a museum space, which hosted various exhibitions until its closure in 1982.
Maitin created posters for local organizations, including this advertisement for the Civic Center in 1967. Maitin also featured his artwork in numerous shows at the Civic Center.
The construction of the Pennsylvania Convention Center and the Wells Fargo Arena made the Convention and Civic Center obsolete. In 2007, the University of Pennsylvania Health System demolished the Civic Center to build the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.
