This pretty creek seemed to emerge from the bush, trickling out through saplings and grasses and tumbling over the rocks lit by full midday sun. I wanted to play with the gentle sweetness of the little waterway and the fresh growth around it, bringing a sense of youth, lightness, and soft colour.
The piece is underpainted with three layers of wash, providing the light touch I wanted for the water and allowing light to bounce back at the viewer from the white canvas underneath.
It's on thin-edged stretched canvas which can be hung as-is, or framed to suit your space.
