Statement
Painting brings me peace in a way nothing else does. With a constantly active mind, I’ve found that creating art slows my thoughts and shifts me from thinking to feeling. It grounds me. When I paint, I breathe more deeply — and that’s the experience I hope to share with others through my work.
I’m inspired by beauty in its raw and fleeting forms: a moment of light on water, a silent grove of trees, a horizon that catches you off guard. After years working in domestic violence and child protection, I’ve witnessed the darkest corners of humanity. Art became my way of turning toward the light — a personal choice to seek out, celebrate, and share the beauty that still exists in the world.
My landscapes aren’t about politics or noise. They don’t demand or debate. They simply are — calm, quiet, and unchanging. In a world filled with conflict and chaos, I paint spaces that offer peace. I want each piece to feel like a deep breath — a pause — a place to rest your eyes and your heart.
I paint every day, sometimes just for a few minutes, sometimes into the early hours of the morning. My golden retriever Gigi keeps me company, music fills the background, and coffee fuels the rest. Growing up in Laguna, I was surrounded by art and often wished I could “snap” what I saw with my eyes like a camera. Painting became my way of doing just that — preserving the split seconds that matter, the moments we don’t want to forget.
