Silverdale Series
The abstract paintings in my 'Silverdale' series are inspired by the land and seascape in and around the Silverdale area in Lancashire, U.K. whilst I was on an art retreat.
These scenes really energised me especially the combination of land & sea. The ebb and flow of the tidal estuary allowed for an expansive ever changing scene across Morecambe Bay.
Acrylic paint, ink and medium with mixed media on cradled wood panel, finished with an archival acrylic varnish.
Curious Perspectives
From my 'Curious Perspectives' series.
Pencil, graphite and charcoal tonal work with paint on canvas and paper.
From my 'aerial view' & 'above and beyond' source material I have enjoyed selecting a couple of elements of the shapes and repeated patterns which inspire me, then worked with these in a more pared back approach.

Superimposed Series
I was intrigued and excited by the process of selecting a few of my favourite digital and hand drawn images and then superimposing them on each other. The process was lengthy but fascinating, seeking to create an abstracted view of my favourite details from the visit to a Woburn garden.
I used the same process for the Silverdale inspired panels, images from the location superimposed onto my paintings of the same scenes from the photos.
