This original collagraph print on Fabriano paper, was inspired by a walk on the shoreline of Morecambe Bay. I came across a collection of found objects arranged in a way that looked like a shrine, a way to remember someone. It was nestled precariously on a rocky bank.
I chose to cut the plate into two, the middle section was made and inked in the usual collagraph method; the outer I wanted mainly a relief design which I blind embossed, careful plate registration was required.
I was pleased with the subtle and delicate outcome of this piece.
