El Avila

This a painting from El Avila National Park, ofically knows as Waraira Repano National Park . It was commissioned by a customer whose family moved from Caracas, Venezuela. The photograph was provided by the customer and I did my interpretation using different oil colors to highlight parts of the mountain and mark the shadows that come from the clouds. What I liked about the composition is that I used cold colors on the left and then used warm ones on the right side of the canvas. I also enjoyed painting the buildings in the distance.
