The Snake River carves deep canyons in the desert. It’s a rugged looking place. There is a lookout above the Swan Falls Dam where you can gaze far below to the river and out to the birds of prey floating on the air. Spring rains can’t completely hide the fact that this is a rugged dry place. With my Idaho sister as my guide, we found a cliffside perch with a great view. The last bits of snow clinging to the distant hills really made it for this Texas flatlander!
