Gift of John A. Welsh III, Class of 1959

Victor Vasarely was a leading artist of Op-Art, an art movement popular in the 1960's concerned with the nature of perception and optical effects. Op-Art works typically appear as optical illusions, with geometric shapes and abstract patterns that appear to move three-dimensionally within their two-dimensional space.
