I am sending love to the eight-year-old boy that I was, specifically during that time when I crossed the border as an undocumented child without my parents when I was escaping the civil war in El Salvador. It was a two-and-a-half-month trip from El Salvador to the United States by land. Sometimes on foot. Sometimes by car. Sometimes by train. They went from Coyote to Coyote until I reached the Tijuana border ... Eight-year-old boy, be strong, I believe in you, this is the right way. Also, I want to thank my spirit animals who accompanied me during this trip.

Le estoy enviando amor al niño de ocho años que yo era, específicamente durante ese tiempo cuando crucé la frontera como un niño indocumentado sin mis padres cuando escapaba la guerra civil en El Salvador. Fue un viaje de dos meses y medio desde El Salvador a Estados Unidos por tierra. A veces a pie. A veces en coche. A veces en tren. Me pasaron de Coyote a Coyote hasta que llegué a la frontera de Tijuana ... Niño de ocho años, sé fuerte, creo en ti, este es el camino correcto.
