But to me, it’s more than a collection of portraits. This series is a tribute to the simple magic of being outside with a dog. Each image captures the curiosity, happiness, and sense of wonder pups bring to even the smallest adventure, reminding us how grounding and joyful time in nature can be.
While the Pure Michigan Pups series celebrates dogs in these beautiful locations, the heart of my work is pets with their people, because the love they share is where the real story lives.
Most of my photography focuses on that relationship, the quiet companionship, shared glances, and everyday moments that define a life together. I believe you cannot tell a pet’s full story without the human who loves them.
My goal is not only to create beautiful images, but to give people the gift of remembering how it feels to be with their dog, the comfort, the laughter, and the unconditional love that makes ordinary moments extraordinary.
Pure Michigan Pups is a love letter to Michigan, to dogs, and to the peaceful, joyful moments that remind us what really matters. Through this exhibit, I hope these images invite viewers to pause, smile, and feel the quiet healing that comes from time in nature, especially with a pup by your side.
