I endeavor to capture the actual appearance of the land and water around me. Usually I paint outdoors with a focus on direct observation. Nature can be so uplifting and healing to everyone. We can realize that we are a part of the intricate web of life. I am also a teaching professor of painting, drawing, and color at Stamps School of Art at the University of Michigan School of Art & Design.
