"My inspiration comes from the last passage of the poem segment, Farm Islanders. ""Believing in its promise to provide, they have nurtured the land and the land has nurtured them, in a synergistic dance. Moored here by choice, they live their lives tenaciously protecting fragile shores, and how to stay is their abiding mission.""
This passage invokes expansive views of rolling plowed fields dotted with tall trees on the horizon. These fields are a standing testament of determination to respect and work with the land. Throughout generations of ""Islanders"", nature bares silent witness to the the dedication and wisdom of these leaders. She sees all and
knows of their struggles."
