Statement
Trevor Rowe is a colourist. His work explores colour balance, colour contrast and colour relationships. The results are strong vibrant works through to works that are minimal, subtle and subdued. There are recurring themes of starkness, aloneness and isolation.
While much of his work involves acrylic on canvas and board, Trevor embraces collage and digital painting and sometimes watercolour. He seeks to engage with viewers, inviting exploration of the creative process, patterns and markings. Also, he invites viewers to understand mediums and their meanings.
Trevor seeks to employ found materials, repurposing the mundane and ordinary into works that exhibit beauty.
