Artist Statement:
My work investigates how non-objective forms can carry meaning through their materiality and method of creation. These 3D-printed porcelain vessels explore the relationship between digital design processes and traditional ceramic materials. Together, they are in conversation where their similarities and differences can stimulate our perception and understanding of the objects and the way in which they were made. This work reflects my ongoing interest in craft as a research methodology—using making as a way to think through questions about contemporary material culture and the evolving relationship between handcraft and advanced manufacturing technologies. Each vessel serves as both a functional form and a discursive object that invites contemplation about the traces of making in our increasingly digital era.
