"Bacchus - The Roman God of Wine" is a mixed media Modern Renaissance themed painting. This piece was created as an entry into the Arts Center of the Brazos Valley 35th Annual Messina Hof Texas Artist Wine Label Competition. In partnership with The Arts Center of Brazos Valley, Messina Hof aims to support local Texas artists and give back to the arts community. This is the largest piece I have attempted and, while challenging, lessons were learned.

With the theme of "Modern Renaissance" I took the renaissance style of bright, vibrant colors and paired them with a modern, Roman God-like greyhound dog depicting Bacchus, the Roman God of Wine which is adorned with a crown of grapes and grape leaves to symbolize the origins of the wines produced for Messina Hof Winery.
