Deckled Edge Art Company was founded in the year 2024 by the exceptionally talented artist Tonya Schorre as a means to effectively showcase her unique creative talents and distinctive artistic vision through the creation of beautiful and versatile paintings that resonate with a wide audience.
About the Artist
My name is Tonya Lynn Schorre (Tony, or Toot, to those who know me best). I live in Huntsville, Texas and I am married to the most awesome man in the world, with 8 wonderful kids through a blended family! To say the least, my life is never dull.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved to draw and paint. My grandmother would always sit patiently with me while I watched all of the fascinating art programs on PBS: Bob Ross, Commander Mark, and countless other educational and instructional shows, each one teaching me something new. She would even join in and draw with me sometimes, both to keep me engaged and, I’m sure, to manage to get me out of her hair while she was busy tending to various tasks around the house! Over time, this infatuation blossomed into a full-on love for creating anything with my hands. Molding clay, drawing with charcoal and pastels, and experimenting with acrylic painting and watercolor have all become my biggest passions. I feel fortunate now to have a dedicated space, ample time, and the support and acceptance from those around me that allow me to invest the necessary time and effort into something that I truly enjoy and cherish.
Statement
I want to take a moment to sincerely express my gratitude for stopping by to take a look at our page and the art that I have displayed for your enjoyment. In no way does what I’ve displayed here represent the entirety of what I have, or what I will ever have, in my studio. I create new pieces every single day, exploring different ideas and techniques; however, I just don’t always get around to updating my site as frequently as I would like. To be honest, it feels a bit too much like real work to me! I would much rather have a paintbrush in my hand and vibrant colors on my face than spend time sitting in front of a computer painstakingly uploading images, determining prices, writing blurbs, and so on. If you see something you like, please know that I can always recreate an "original" for you, or I can easily order prints in any size you desire, framed and/or matted according to your preference. Additionally, we can also explore the option of ordering home decor items or even clothing featuring my art on them! The possibilities are truly endless, all thanks to the advances in technology.
