I spent the day snooping around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Have I mentioned before how blessed I am to live here...well, within a couple hour drive. The place does not disappoint.
I wanted to drive up to Newfound Gap and Clingmans Dome to hike the Forney Ridge Trail to Andrews Bald and do a painting there. But, some kind of road work going on up that way and traffic was backed up bad.
So, I settled on painting this view of Chimney Tops, a 12"x16" oil. Then I wound my way back along the Little River Gorge toward Townsend and found a cool little squeeze as the sun was lowering in the sky. It's a 11"x14" oil.
