I grew up in rural Indiana, the son of a coal miner. I love the outdoors and have spent most of my life figuring out a way to remain there. I also love to draw and paint, so like a Reese's peanut butter cup, I've combined the two and have become a dedicated plein air painter.

I am self taught and my prior experience is far removed from the art world. An Air Force veteran, an HVAC service tech, an electric motor mechanic, truck driver, and a serious DIYer.

I did have a small business as a custom painter and airbrush artist.
