Andrew Rush is a highly regarded American printmaker and art teacher (he formerly taught at the UA College of Art and is a founding member of The Drawing Studio), who received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Tucson Pima Arts Council in 2006. During the year this intaglio was created Rush participated in art-based community studies with former Black Mountain College faculty Hazel Archer, Charles Littler and others at Hidden Springs School, Tucson. This experience laid the groundwork for the formation of the Rancho Linda Vista artist's colony.
