Among most Native American tribes all important plants and animals, as well as forces of nature like wind and rain, have their own distinct spirits. Often these spirits can manifest in human form – a process called transfiguration. Each print in the Canyon Spirits series has a generalized human figure that can represent a particular plant or animal.
